About Milford

Milford collage

Milford is one of the oldest established suburbs of Auckland’s North Shore, and enjoys a large range of age groups.

It is situated in between two waterways, Lake Pupuke and Milford beach. This suburb has so much to offer people who enjoy the outdoors and water sports or simply being able to stroll along the sandy beaches, the scenic walk between Milford and Takapuna where remains of Rangitoto’s volcanic activity can be seen along with original baches and state of the art building developments bordering this coast, or the popular circuit of Lake Pupuke where many triathlons are held. Boat ramps are available at the marina or at various roads leading to Milford beach. There is a large tidal marina next to the reserve.

Lake Pupuke offers canoeing, windsurfing and kayaking, a rowing club and such attractions as the Pumphouse on its shores with Milford primary and Carmel College nestled at its edge.

It is zoned for the sought-after secondary schools such as Westlake Boys and Westlake Girls High schools, with the catholic colleges of Carmel College for girls and Rosmini College for boys close by. All of the primary schools in this location are decile 10 rating and feed into the popular Takapuna Normal Intermediate School.

Milford has exceptional transport facilities available, with express buses from most areas of Milford and the new Park and Ride now in operation close to North Shore Hospital enabling you to get to the city in 10 minutes or less. Close motorway access to the city and Albany.
